Community and green spaces
The redevelopment of the site provides an opportunity to introduce green spaces and landscaped areas for students and local people to enjoy.
As a result of local feedback, we have expanded the amount of green and landscaped space by reducing the footprint of the building and introducing new planting and trees along the A58 frontage.
Public realm and landscaping improvements will include:
A principal elevation and new public realm to Marlborough Street providing an enhanced pedestrian environment with new and replacement tree planting.
A pocket park at the junction of Marlborough Street and Duncombe Street and outdoor garden areas for residents.
By pulling the footprint of the building away from the road, we can now provide planting and new trees in front of the double storey amenity space, significantly improving the A58 frontage.
